Lena Maria Jonna Olin was born on March 22, 1955 in Stockholm, Sweden. She is an Academy Award-nominated Swedish actress.
After graduating from high school, Olin worked as a hospital aide and substitute teacher before taking Bergman's advice to audition for the Royal Dramatic Theatre company that he was heading.
Olin has continued to work with Bergman over the years, appearing in many of his films and stage productions.
From 2002 to 2006, Olin appeared opposite Jennifer Garner in her first American television role ever; on the second season of the successful television series Alias.
She also appeared in Chocolat (2000), Hollywood Homicide (2003), Casanova (2005) and Awake (2007).
She married to director Lasse Hallström since 1994.
